Library of Congress becomes maintenance agency for ALTO XML Schema
As they say on the new loc standards page:
CCS Content Conversion Specialists GmbH transfers maintenance of ALTO XML Schema to the Library of Congress Network Development and MARC Standards Office.
The Library of Congress (LC) Network Development and MARC Standards Office has become the official maintenance agency for the ALTO (Analyzed Layout and Text Object) XML Schema. Prior to its arrival at LC, CCS Content Conversion Specialists GmbH 
maintained the ALTO standard. CCS has played a crucial role in ALTO’s development dating back to its creation during the METAe project .
